Delft Blue Butterflies

 

 

Being a Dutch illustrator, Delft Blue has always been around. For centuries it has been an important export product, it has brought many people to my tiny country and inspired at least as many artists from all over the world. It has been so present in daily life that until recently I never really noticed the beauty of it.
With this series of Delft Blue Butterflies, I am combining my illustration style with the Dutch heritage and honouring the craftsmanship for which the Dutch are known.
